Decades of working with Renaissance Faires ("Yep, my momma did raise a Fool!") and an assortment of historical re-enactment groups have helped feed an enthusiasm for the historical designs and styles of the early celts. A fascination with modern tools and technology has helped in creating new interpretations of old, old styles.

My gem carvings are often inspired by the late first millennium master goldworks and great illuminated manuscripts from Ireland, Scotland, and Wales; which in turn were inspired by the stone carvings of an earlier era. Like the grand knotwork panels that so enamour the Celts, the cycle always returns to its beginning.

I've been an artist and entertainer for most of my life, working such jobs as a sign painter, planetarian, bubbleologist, sword fighter, comedian, dancer, and musician. I spent a magical decade as an entertainer at Renaissance Festivals, traveling around the country making people laugh and sing. At the turn of the millennium I retired from the road and went back to making jewelry where I discovered a new passion -gemstone carving. For several years I worked creating custom carvings and jewelry for Designer Jewelers and regular folk. A couple of years ago I really started missing the excitement and the people at Renaissance Festivals and began taking my artwork back out on the road, setting up my booth at Art Shows, Celtic Festivals, Ren Faires, and Recreationist events. In addition to the commission work I've always done I now create Celtic and Heraldic styled gem carvings and etched copper metalworks that are available for outright purchase.
