Carved Arizona Blackstone on hand-made Argentium Sterling Silver Chain, my wife claims this is the "sexiest" piece I've carved to date. Created from a solid rock of Arizona Blackstone or "Absolute Black Jade" the outside is polished to a fine sheen while the inside is left matte to highlight the 3D nature of the carving. Argentium Sterling Silver is a relatively new alloy that is extremely tarnish resistant.
Ivoryite stone carved with a Viking styled likeness of "a pelican in its piety", a medieval symbol of service. The stone is set in a simple sterling silver bezel and hanging from a sterling silver chain. The ruby represents a drop of her blood, shed to feed her young. You can see the back of the piece has the "skin" of the stone left intact.
“Ivory Kells Beastie f.19V” Ivoryite Stone carved bas relief. Based on a design from folio 19V of the Book of Kells, one of the most beautiful illuminated manuscripts ever created. Mined here in Arizona Ivoryite is my favorite substitute for elephant ivory. It is a magnesite variant that is harder than ivory with a Mohs rating of 5 to 5 1/2.
